Originally hailing from Pittsburgh, Yury is a Hip-Hop artist, song-writer, producer and DJ that now resides in Brooklyn. Similar to Atlanta’s Russ, Yury takes pride in being a one-stop shop, and doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.
From co-headlining Webster Hall to selling out Knitting Factory, and producing for Grammy winning artists, Yury is gradually creating a name for himself. Arguably one of the most multitalented artists rising from Brooklyn, Yury is constantly sharpening his unapologetically genuine sound. Influenced by a variety of Hip-hop acts including Dave East, 6lack, and Big Sean, Yury strives to be honest with all of music.
After sharing his introspective “Life Is.” single, Brooklyn-based Hip-Hop recording artist, Yury quickly returns with a refreshingly lyrical track titled, “Acetate.”
“I heard this warped recording that was done on a tape recorder by this obscure musician from Toronto. This is the only known recording by him. There was no bpm and it was super rough and raw. I started with that and created everything from a vibe more so than a story.”
With this new offering, Yury steps away from trap and instead, serves up poignant wordplay over atmospheric production.
